KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:
Duties:
Operational Framework:
- Coordinate and execute physical testing in accordance with the Riadh Assessment and Movement Analysis (RAMAL) testing protocol for both male and female participants.
- Assess, monitor, analyse, and report on team and individual player physical and physiological information using relevant technologies and interventions.
- Maintain meticulous patient documentation, records, and accurate statistical information, reflecting the care provided and meeting professional standards.
- Participate in all facets of movement and strength assessments, from preparing patients for data collection to contributing to the production of research outputs.
- Utilize cutting-edge equipment such as isokinetic dynamometry, 3D optical motion capture, instrumented treadmill, IMUs, EMG, and force platforms.
- Collaborate with sports coaches and sports therapists to assess individuals and teams, working towards enhancing their performance.
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining results and conclusions.
- Develop and ensure the proper maintenance of diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Effectively communicate and engage with staff, players, parents, and guardians as necessary.
- Liaise with other professionals, including coaching, medical, and administrative personnel, to ensure a complete interdisciplinary support system for athletes/patients.
- Demonstrate physical ability to conduct clinical assessments. Handle occasional, potentially stressful, upsetting, or emotional situations with empathy.
- Uphold a proficient standard of ethical and professional behaviour when treating and interacting with athletes/patients.
- Continuously comply with Health and Safety Regulations, taking responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of others in the working environment.
Monitoring and Coordination:
- Mentor and train new lab members in equipment use, result visualization, and test protocols.
- Supervise clinical workload and monitor day-to-day management of patient care and clinical interventions.
- Ensure that a high quality of clinical care services within the Assessment Unit are maintained.
- Participate in clinical audit to support the Physiotherapy Service Clinical Governance Strategy.
- Work closely with RAMAL staff and Physiotherapist providing support and direction in management of their workload and clinical outcomes.
- Communicate and share recommendations to all relevant disciplines of staff to maximise patient care and promote multidisciplinary team working.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Ensure development and regular updating and implementation of appropriate clinical guidelines to optimise patient care.
- Maintain patient documentation, records, and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards.
Thought Leadership:
- Present the results of research, projects, meeting summaries and other topics to medical, scientific, and other staff as appropriate.
People Management:
- Provide guidance and direct input to the development plans and performance management of direct reports to meet the organizational mission and objectives.
- Assume or accept any other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor within the position role and responsibility.
- Patient Safety-Attend and successfully complete competencies which focus on patient safety initiatives implemented within Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. Patient Safety Training is an annual requirement, to include all organizational leaders, staff, service, and contracted providers.
Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job:
- Minimum experience of 5-7 years in which 2-3 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.
Education and Certification requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science or equivalent.
- Evidence of up to date Continued Professional development is required.
- Professional certifications in the field of work are an added advantage.
Job specific technical Skills:
- Energetic and challenged by opportunities to set up a clinical framework, systems, and workflows from conception to implementation and on-going management.
- An interest / personal background in competitive sports would be advantageous.
- Professionally groomed to project a positive image.
- Desire to embrace a culture of excellence, collaboration, and communication.
- High proficiency in English language is mandatory. Arabic will be a definitive advantage.
