Job Title: Special Needs Therapist/Teacher (24/7, School Attendance Required)

About Child:
12-year-old boy living in Doha diagnosed with Sturge-Weber Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is non-verbal and requires comprehensive support in communication, social skills, daily living activities, and behavior management. Saad is a loving and engaging child who benefits greatly from a patient, dedicated, and experienced professional to help him reach his full potential.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Special Needs Therapist/Teacher to provide intensive, 24/7 support for our son. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with children with ASD and complex medical needs, specifically in a home-based setting and within a school environment. They will be responsible for implementing individualized therapy programs, teaching daily living skills, managing behavior, providing ongoing monitoring and data collection, and attending school with Saad to cooperate with school staff.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized therapy programs based on our son's specific needs and goals, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), speech therapy, occupational therapy, and sensory integration therapy.
Provide intensive one-on-one therapy sessions and implement structured teaching strategies.
Teach and reinforce daily living skills, such as toilet training, dressing, showering, and eating, adapting methods to Saad’s specific needs.
Implement positive behavior support strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive interactions.
Monitor and document our son's progress, collecting detailed data, and providing regular reports to the family and collaborating with external professionals.
Create and maintain a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment within the family home and at school.
Attend school with our son's, cooperating closely with school staff to implement his individualized education plan (IEP) and provide consistent support.
Collaborate with other professionals involved in our son's care, including therapists, doctors, and educators.
Provide overnight care and support, ensuring a consistent routine.
Maintain a professional and ethical approach at all times, respecting family privacy.
Provide respite care as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children with ASD and complex medical needs, preferably in a home-based and school setting.
Certification in ABA (BCBA, BCaBA) is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapies and interventions.
Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Exceptional patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to help children with special needs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Fluency in both Arabic and English is required.
Valid Qatari residency or eligibility to obtain residency.
CPR and First Aid certification.
