The Senior Rheumatology Consultant will lead our rheumatology department, providing expert medical care, consultation, and leadership in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), this position offers an opportunity to contribute to clinical excellence, education, and research in rheumatology.
Provide specialized rheumatology consultations, evaluations, and treatment plans for patients with autoimmune disorders, inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, and other rheumatic conditions.
Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as joint aspirations, synovial biopsies, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and immunologic tests.
Prescribe and manage immunosuppressive therapies, biologic agents, and other pharmacologic treatments for rheumatic diseases.
Lead and mentor a team of rheumatologists, fellows, residents, nurses, and support staff within the rheumatology department.
Provide guidance on clinical management, treatment strategies, and patient care protocols in rheumatology.
Foster a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous professional development among rheumatology staff.
Implement quality assurance programs and initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction in rheumatology care.
Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, protocols, and regulatory standards relevant to rheumatologic practice.
Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, peer evaluations, and quality improvement projects to optimize patient care pathways.
Engage in teaching, supervision, and mentorship of medical students, residents, rheumatology fellows, and allied health professionals.
Contribute to rheumatology research studies, publications, and presentations at national and international conferences.
Stay updated with advancements in rheumatologic treatments, diagnostic techniques, and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices.
Collaborate effectively with other specialty departments, including nephrology, dermatology, immunology, and orthopedics, to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex rheumatologic conditions.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment plans, and long-term management strategies.
Participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds, case discussions, and departmental meetings to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
Proven ability to manage diverse patient populations and complex medical conditions in a primary care setting.
Proficiency in managing autoimmune and inflammatory rheumatic diseases, prescribing complex therapies, and performing diagnostic procedures.

Minimum 3 years of experience as Rheumatology Consultant (Mandatory).
Preferred: Minimum 1 year’s work experience in the Gulf Cooperation Council (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain).
