We are looking for a Senior Project Controls Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:
Start date: Feb 2025
End date: Apr 2026
Work location : Doha, Qatar
Work status : Residential, single
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Qualification: Engineering background, preferably having Risk Management Certification(s)
- Demonstrable 15+ years’ of experience in Oil & Gas industry with minimum 10 years’ experience in Risk Management.
- Good knowledge of Risk Management Procedures and tools, (Primavera Risk Analysis, ACUMEN, OPRA, SAFRAN,..etc.),
- Self-starter and have a proactive, results-oriented focus while working autonomously,
- Willingness and capability to assume additional responsibilities, commitment to delivering to stringent deadlines and putting in extra effort in times of high activity,
- Experience of personnel management, strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively and work with people at all levels in a multicultural organization.
- Well diversified with data management, processing, and analysis of bulk data
- Fluent in written and spoken English and good competencies in business writing.
ACTIVITIES
- Promotes a proactive risk identification and management culture to the entire Department.
- Lead risk identification workshops and facilitate discussions with project teams to ensure comprehensive risk capture.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for projects at various stages of development:
- Review the existing Risk Breakdown Structure
- Identify, analyze, and prioritize project risks, as per RBS.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans in collaboration with project teams.
- Monitor and track risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely mitigation and resolution.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on risk management best practices.
- Communicate risk-related information to key stakeholders, including project sponsors and senior management.
- Utilize risk management tools and software to facilitate the identification, assessment, and monitoring of project risks.
- Conduct risk workshops and training sessions to build risk management capabilities within the organization.
- Continuously evaluate and improve risk management processes and procedures.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to project risk management.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk analyses to assess the impact and likelihood of identified risks on project objectives
- including schedule and cost.
- Work closely with project management team and stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate risk management into project planning, scheduling, and decision- making processes.
- Monitor and track identified risks throughout the project lifecycle, updating risk registers and risk dashboards accordingly.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive set of RPIs (Risk Performance Indicator) aligned with the Department goals and project goals and objectives.
- Analyze RPI’s trends and performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Continuous improvement and enhancement of Risk function within the E&C division and cross function.
- Prepare and present risk reports and analysis to project teams and senior management, highlighting key risk trends, mitigation efforts, and potential impacts on project timelines and budgets.
- Create Engineering and Construction Risk data base, Risk register templates for E&C portfolio of projects.
- Provide recurrent coaching and training to internal stakeholders on Risk Management Function (Methods, Tools, reports).
- Contribute to create Lessons learned database from existing risks.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on risk management best practices and techniques.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to project risk management.
- Risk Management procedures and guidelines development aligned with COMPANY standards.
