Job Description
To establish and manage the overall activities pertaining to the development/revision, tracking and follow up on sustainability plan and associated activities. Responsible for the establishment of strategies, targets, and initiatives to ensure the enhancements towards sustainability journey. Responsible to ensure that improves its rating and reflect improvements. Anticipate and adapt to regulatory changes and/or risks and opportunities regarding sustainability. Ensures the annual communication of ESG data collection and analysis, according to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards to improve stakeholder engagement.
Overall responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the Sustainability framework, policy, and plan in accordance with three sustainability pillars (Environment, Social and Governance).
- Develop and manage the sustainability plan based on alignment with UN sustainable development goals, Qatar’s National Vision 2030 keeping in mind potential local regulations.
- Establish governance of sustainability plan through ensuring its implementation, conducting regular reviews, and providing regular feedback on the progress of the activities.
- Conduct risk and opportunities assessments with respect to general requirements and climate change requirements followed by detailed action planning to mitigate the impact.
- Define short term, medium term and long-term goals with initiatives aligned to achieve them.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions to onboard everyone in the company towards sustainability goals and encourage them to contribute towards identified initiatives.
- Design and develop cross functional sustainability performance goals, KPIs, Metrics, initiatives, or strategies in collaboration with senior management.
- Ensure communication of Qatar wide ESG reporting at required levels and stakeholders as and when required.
- Engage with strategic planning team to ensure business and strategic plans are aligned with sustainability principles. Ensure integration of sustainability annual targets into various divisional annual objectives/business plans to ensure they are in alignment with vision.
- Lead benchmark studies against industrial partners to improve corporate sustainability performance.
- Establish strong industry relations with external stakeholders and internal stakeholders to gather necessary sustainability needs, list and prioritize goals, agree on initiatives to support sustainability goals with senior management, integrate with corporate strategy, plan and work with relevant departments on the tactical and operational objectives to ensure work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in line with the business plans, policies and procedures.
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognized University.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience, including at least 5- 7 years of experience in positions of progressively increasing management responsibilities in sustainability for technology or telecom domain.
Relevant ISO certifications in ESG fields such as:
ISO14001
ISO50001
ISO14067
