Senior Mechanical Rotating Engineer - DOH01HX Primary Location: QAT-DW-Doha Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates. Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful. Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence. Supports document checking and design verification tasks for compliance to company and project specifications. Technical supervision of project designated mechanical designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duty. Prepare of specifications, data sheets and other information covering Rotating equipment and system packages. Performance of bid evaluation and vendor document review and approval Technical writing activities, in particular, production of technical reports and operating manuals. Manage studies and mechanical-rotating-orientated projects as assigned. Preparation of technical requisition, stipulation of inspection and testing requirement and documentation Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success. Implements innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence. Supports Lead Engineer in monitoring quality activities and takes action where required. Assist Project Team in project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules Prepare and participate in weekly mechanical discipline meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures. Review and approve all related technical documents and coordinate with the Lead Engineer. Management, technical execution and completion of engineering assigned tasks in the specific mechanical-rotating discipline area Provide rotating equipment engineering input to conceptual studies, front end engineering and detailed engineering design for petrochemical, refineries and oil & gas facilities including the associated utilities Incorporates information from multiple sources into equipment/material specifications, data sheets, testing requirements, and material requisitions. Reviews similar documentation to assist others and reviews/authorizes work done by direct reports operability, and maintainability reviews, and ensures that requirements are Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to achieving the Worley Vision and its associated requirements. Perform any other duties that are reasonably required from time to time. Has substantial knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables. Complies with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role. Deliver quality services and demonstrate a commitment to understand and meet customer needs. Act in the best interests of Worley at all times. Works independently at an advanced level completing a wide variety of assignments through the application of advanced engineering theories, techniques, and practices. Provides discipline supervision for one larger or one or more smaller projects. Arrives punctually for work and meetings. Demonstrates commitment to the organisation. Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritisation of work to achieve them Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment. Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills in the mechanical-rotating discipline, and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients. Specialized expertise of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical-rotating discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplines. Specialized expertise of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements. In-depth knowledge of mechanical-rotating engineering with wide experience in multi-discipline areas Excellent report writing skills. Hands on experience with pumps, compressors and packaged equipment Specialized knowledge of API-610 (pumps), API-617 &618 (compressor), API-682 (Mech. seal) and statutory and regulatory requirements and a good understanding of onshore and offshore engineering practices applicable to mechanical engineering design for oil and gas/refinery/petrochemical facilities. Initiates and introduces changes into work processes; Makes quick, clear decisions that may include tough choices or considered risks; Recognizes the need for improved systems/processes and proactively recommends, develops and implements them. Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its client’s requirements. Develops job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development; Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and Identifies and organises resources needed to accomplish tasks; Competent user of workflow procedure for delivering mechanical-rotating engineering deliverables. Familiar with Worley Mechanical-Rotating discipline Standards & Codes of relevance to Brownfields Engineering Design; Demonstrates commitment to the organisation; Complies with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role. Approaches change positively and drives change to improve systems; Accepts new ideas and change initiatives; Adapts interpersonal style to suit different people or situations. Effectively manages change to work tasks and the work environment and assists others with adapting to change. Industry Specific Experience: Relevant years of experience of mechanical design in onshore/offshore oil & gas industry in a brownfield environment with focus on rotating equipments. FEED and detailed engineering experience is essential. Recent experience in an engineering consultancy in a multidiscipline environment is essential. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Maintain HSE focus with the team to ensure OHSE requirements. Good English communication skills (spoken & written) Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance. Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity. * Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
