About the job SENIOR ICA ENGINEER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of an ICA (Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) Engineer is to design, implement, maintain, and optimize systems that control and automate industrial processes. An ICA Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that industrial systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for design and oversee design for process and instrumentation diagrams, control strategies, control system network diagrams, control system input/output list, control panel drawings, and commissioning procedures. 
  •  Responsible for responding to contractors request for information during construction of facility, verifying that equipment meets design specifications, preparing design changes, and supporting startup and commissioning during construction
  • Provides instrumentation and control engineering services including design, preparation of design drawings and specifications, interdisciplinary review of design documents, construction support service, and commissioning support for control systems associated with wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations including the following:
    SCADA System Architecture design, Detailed Design P&IDs, PMS System Design., I/O Schedules for Process Controls, BMS & PMS System., Instrument Schedules & Instrument Data Sheets, ICA Cable Schedules, Cable Block Diagrams, Overall Instrumentation & Control Layouts, control room layouts, ICA / ELV Systems (BMS, PAGA, Telecom, Access Control, CCTV) Load assessment & Calculations for feed to size UPS, Operation & Control Philosophy.
  • Detailed design plans including detailed cable routing etc. for BMS, CCTV, Access Control Systems, Fire Alarm System, PAGA System, Telecom, Intercom Systems and Instrumentation, Control & Automation works, Functional Design Specifications for each system, Technical specifications and design reports, user requirement specifications, BoQ support to QS for ICA Systems.
  • Confidently liaise with Client, present project work at company meetings or at conferences.
  • Technical report writing at all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Lead & build the team - technically support to mentor junior engineers and colleagues.
  • Contributing innovative ideas for technical problem resolutions.
  • Closely work with ICA Engineers, Revit Modelers and Drafters to generate detailed drawings, schedules, and documentation, and accurate and comprehensive 3D models.
  • Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and MEP team to ensure proper integration and coordination of all system elements within the overall building model.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the electrical models, drawings, and associated documentation.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Engineering Degree in Instrumentation & Controls / Electrical Engineering, MME/UPDA Certification.
  • Chartered Engineer/ Professional Engineering Certification.
  • Good Knowledge of PWA / Kahramaa requirements.
  • 15+ Years experience as an ICA Engineer,
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, or industrial projects, especially STP will be advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in developing process and instrumentation diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, locations plans and installation details, and interconnection and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience in sizing and selection of control valves and primary elements commonly used for process control.
  • Experience in developing instrument data sheets and PLC input/output lists.
  • SCADA system design experience using a variety of communication technologies including ethernet, fiber optic networks and radio telemetry systems.
  • Experience in developing control panel wiring diagrams, control schematics and panel layout drawings using AutoCAD drafting software.
  • Experience in developing detailed control narratives for automatic plant operation.
  • Ability to write technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
  • Ability to conduct independent field investigations and collect field data to support design work.
  • Experience in reviewing contractors submittals and providing construction support.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Ability to meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Ability to conduct multi-task and be flexible, along with ability to adapt to project deadlines.
  • Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
