Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Government Liaison Officer is responsible to conduct local research, establishing relationships with government officials, discussing client matters with associates, being the go between for the Company and the government officials and being a general assistance in the department for all documents and reports. To assist in managing all the public relations activity both internally and externally by Ensuring that organization has the profile and level of publicity which supports and ensures that the messaging is in line with the organizations vision and objectives.




Job Responsibilities 1

Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in the government, different ministries and among local authorities. Act as a key focal point.


Promote the departmental work and raise the Company image externally at all levels.


Proactively coordinate and advocate on the Company's behalf with local, regional, and national officials to ensure that the desired outcomes for group’s activities in the country are achieved.


Accompany the superiors and other senior staff to meetings with government officials and facilitate conversations for smooth representation of the group in those meetings.


Participate in any relevant meetings and conferences organized by the authorities pertaining to the job jurisdiction.


Support the team in managing governorate level relationships and addressing any issues at that level.


Submit progress reports and applications to relevant ministries and authorities, including Principal Agreement, Sub-Agreements, MOUs, PPP’s and other periodic reports.


Ensure timely signature of the Agreements, Sub-Agreements, MOUs, PPPs and any other relevant agreements between the group and the government authorities and bodies.


Ensure active follow-up on outstanding applications filed with various government bodies, responding to queries from authorities in a timely manner.




Job Responsibilities 2

Work with authorities to secure all required authorizations and permissions to facilitate smooth implementation of the PIH’s programming.


Support the superior in developing methodologies to improve the liaison process including best practices and new developments affecting the PIH.


Maintain lists of the agencies or personnel representing the person, agency or organization.


Familiarize and keep up with all government requirements applicable to the Company's work in the region to support programs, field management and grants team to ensure compliance.


In close cooperation with the paralegal and other team members, identify and share new policies and procedures to create awareness of requirements among senior staff and support compliance.


Ensure senior staff are aware of and understand any concerns of government officials regarding the Company's operations, and that such concerns are factored into the Company's communication strategy and programming.


Ascertain all correspondence with the government is in line with the Company's policies and records are retained in organized manner.


Participate in grants opening meetings to understand the concept of the respective program.


Prepare and share regular progress reports with the internal stakeholders.


Carry out similar tasks assigned by the Paralegal and/or other senior staff.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Good knowledge and understanding of government settings/functions.


Proven skills in networking required.


Good communication and negotiation skills required.


Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines


ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.




Job Experience

Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
