Senior Broadcast IT Engineer

Job Summary:
The Senior Broadcast IT Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the AJMNs Broadcast Systems both in Doha and globally. They work in a fast-paced highly collaborative team and deal with resolve Broadcast IT system failures, security attacks, system outages etc. They perform activities, such as remote support, configuration, and maintenance of servers. Senior Broadcast System Engineer has to ensure the core systems are stable.The Senior Technical Operations Broadcast Systems Engineer configures AJMNs Broadcast IT systems in a way that makes the systems more secure and with optimal performance. The Senior Broadcast IT System Engineer is also responsible for monitoring activity, such as server usage, temperatures etc. They would also install Broadcast systems equipment, such as servers, applications, KVMs, rack installation, running cabling etc. The Senior Broadcast IT System Engineer also works on call and work different shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain AJMN’s Broadcast Systems stability and performance at Doha and Global locations and resolve any impact to service, ensure key performance indicators, and service level agreements are met.
• Identify and resolve faults, incidents, problems, service requests and change requests from the AJMN Service Desk in a professional manner to agreed service levels.
• React to security incidents by performing necessary operations as determined by the Incident Response team.
• Ensure that problems are documented with detailed diagnosis that is accurate and compliant with existing processes.
Other Responsibilities:

• Point of escalation for Broadcast IT engineers on critical and complex systems issues
• Provision new servers and systems such as server configuration, setup of Broadcast IT application.
• Maintain accurate Broadcast systems information for provisioned servers and systems.
• Coordinate with other Technology teams
• Support multiple Technology teams across the whole of Al Jazeera locally in Doha and globally
• Proactive in detecting Broadcast systems issues and ensuring systems quality.
• Actively transfer information between one shift and the next.
• Mentor for new and current Broadcast IT Engineers.
Education and Experience:

• Bachelor or higher in IT, Computer Science or related field or exceptional prior experience
• Broadcast Engineer certification by Society of Broadcast Engineers preferred
• 6+ years in Broadcast and Technology domain
