Stantec’s Management Consulting Group in the Middle East is looking for a result oriented and Risk Management Specialist to work closely with our client in a transformation journey for their Highways Asset Management project.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Stantec Team in delivering transformational work as part of our Management Consulting Group in Qatar, in the development of our Client’s Asset Management Policy, Asset Management Strategy, and Asset Management Framework. The candidate for this position will be working from our client’s office and is a client-facing position to provide management consulting service to our client.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Support and advise the client Management in the risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies related to their Asset Management Policy and Framework in the State of Qatar.
• Integrate risk management practices into asset management, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Identify, analyze, and study existing data sources, risk management processes, procedures, and associated data sets.
• Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing risk management and clients reports.
• Work with management to prioritize business information needs.
• Produce presentations, circulars and other marketing material to promote achievements of the business.
• Present to external and internal stakeholders at all levels to accomplish the Client’s program goals.
• Create and update project risk management matrices and registers.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, the following are essential experience areas to be demonstrated :
1. Proficiency in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
2. Knowledge of risk management methodologies and tools.
3. Ability to integrate risk management into governance frameworks
4. Experience with regulatory compliance and standards.
5. Ability to review and analyze existing policies, procedures, processes, and risk management structures.
Education And Experience
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in risk management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Risk Management (e.g. CRMP, ISO 31000) is required.
• Minimum of 10 years post graduate work experience is required.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to work independently to firm deadlines and to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Time-management skills – ability to work under pressure with dynamic deadlines.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural work environment and build effective relationships with the Client.
• Exposure to analytical data and proficiency in working with MS Excel, MS Access, and overall understanding of database management.
• Capturing and amending process flow diagrams using Visio or similar.
• Advanced PowerPoint skills to develop dynamic stories and present analyses is required.
• Well-developed written communication skills in the preparation of presentations, technical reports, correspondence, and proposals are mandatory.
• Excellent oral and written English skills.
• Working knowledge of road asset management, operations and maintenance contracts is considered an asset.
• Exposure to and experience with government Clients under client-facing roles.
