Job Description

Job Title: Rigging Supervisor

Location: Qatar

Experience: 4-5 Years

Salary: Depends Upon Experience

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate all rigging activities on-site, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
  • Plan and oversee lifting and rigging operations for heavy equipment, machinery, and structural components.
  • Conduct pre-lift meetings and risk assessments to ensure safe rigging procedures.
  • Ensure that rigging and lifting equipment, such as slings, shackles, and cranes, are inspected and certified before use.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to riggers and lifting personnel.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with international rigging standards (OSHA, LOLER, ASME B30.9, API RP 2D).
  • Coordinate with engineers, safety officers, and crane operators to ensure safe execution of lifting plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of rigging activities, including equipment inspections, permits, and lift plans.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure adherence to client and company safety policies, reporting any unsafe conditions or near-miss incidents.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Rigging and Lifting (Lifting Supervisor, OPITO, API RP 2D, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of rigging and lifting techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in reading lifting plans, load charts, and rigging calculations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to assess load weight, center of gravity, and lifting capacities.
  • Familiarity with crane operations and heavy lifting procedures.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and risk assessment.
