Job Description

Overview:

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all contractual and financial aspects of projects, from initial calculations to final figures, focusing on minimizing project costs while maximizing value for money and ensuring high-quality standards in a cost-effective manner. Additionally, the role involves the production of tender documents and cost planning to prepare final bills of quantities.

Responsibilities:

  • Review tender documentation thoroughly to identify and address any irregularities or discrepancies promptly, ensuring timely resolution to prevent potential issues.
  • Generate accurate valuations within specified timeframe (Conquest or Excel), including budgetary valuations and projected future costs involving regular communication with Quantity Surveyors (PQS) and/or Architects.
  • Evaluate builder’s progress claim and value progress payments at regular intervals as well as assess variation value changes to design or quantities referenced in the bill of quantities.
  • Manage all project costs effectively through correspondence and instructions, executing any assignments delegated by the direct Manager.
  • Maintain oversight of due payments and invoices, ensuring timely payment clearance to consultants and contractors following agreement on valuations, in accordance with established payment processes in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Conduct market research and stay informed on contractual matters, including conditions of contract and other relevant tender documents. Possess a comprehensive understanding of building regulations, legal guidelines, FIDIC (The International Federation of Consulting Engineers), and measurement regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on final accounts and cost variances based on contract scope and/or contractual requirements.
  • Conduct site visits regularly and foster positive relationships with site managers, while also ensuring the provision of cost control services during the construction phase.
  • Monitor the overall financial and physical progress of awarded contract.
  • Preparing Contract Documents for Contract Agreement, Maintenance Service Agreement & Professional Service Agreement.
  • Draft letters related to post contract in order to address the Contractor’s Issues / Claims and Time Extension, Variation Orders, Completion Certificates Etc
  • preparation of contractual correspondences, in a centralized manner
