Job summary
MISSION:
Responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of project execution, ensuring compliance with client requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
TASKS:
Project Technical Oversight
Manage and oversee all technical aspects of the project, particularly focusing on brownfield modifications and upgrades within the Oil & Gas environment. Ensure that all technical deliverables, including engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, are completed in accordance with Qatargas standards and industry regulations. Lead the technical team in identifying and mitigating risks associated with brownfield operations, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing production.
Technical Design Management
Review and approve engineering designs, ensuring they are in line with project specifications and Qatargas requirements. Provide technical leadership for the integration of new systems into existing facilities, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of project modifications. Coordinate with engineering disciplines to resolve any design issues, providing technical guidance and solutions.
Brownfield Project Expertise
Apply extensive experience in managing technical aspects of brownfield projects, including working in live plant environments, ensuring safety and minimizing operational risks. Ensure that all modifications and retrofits are executed safely and without disrupting current operations. Monitor the technical performance of the project, making adjustments as necessary to address any unforeseen issues.
Compliance with Client Standards
Ensure full compliance with Qatargas standards and specifications throughout the project lifecycle, including design, construction, and commissioning phases. Liaise with Qatargas technical teams and stakeholders to address any compliance issues or technical queries. Manage the preparation and submission of technical documentation for review and approval by Qatargas.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client, particularly with Qatargas, ensuring clear communication and resolution of technical issues. Prepare and present technical reports to clients and project stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, risks, and any technical concerns. Ensure all client requirements are incorporated into the design and execution plans, maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
HSE and Risk Management
Ensure all technical activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, particularly when working in brownfield environments. Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with the project, ensuring the safety of personnel and the integrity of existing facilities. Conduct technical risk assessments and ensure safety-critical aspects of the project are prioritized and addressed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline). 15+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with a focus on brownfield projects and technical management. Prior experience working on projects in compliance with Qatargas standards is required. Fluent level of English, written and spoken.
