Job Description

About the role


We are looking for a Project Managers with experience in software project management, delivery and support. The ideal candidate must have good software development background with hands-on experience in the role of a Project Manager in large software product development projects, production implementation and managing production support of Tier 0/Tier 1 business critical applications.


In this role, you will work closely with the IT delivery & business implementation teams, and will be responsible for managing both inhouse development projects and 3rd party vendor implementations and ongoing production support. The role requires excellent stakeholder management skills and will require managing communications at the leadership-levels.


Other operational duties would include:


  • Manage & maintain the Project Charter and Project Management Plans
  • Organize Project Governance forums including daily stand-up meetings, Sprint planning sessions, Retrospectives, Working group forums and Steering committee sessions
  • Play the role of IT Application Owner for the assigned set of applications, responsible for ensuring compliance to IT processes, technology architecture guidelines, high availability SLAs and IT Security standards
  • Partner with business sponsors to identify potential gaps in automation where IT can add value, and work towards plugging the gap through either 3rd party product implementations or in-house developments
  • Manage delivery of assigned IT projects coordinating with business users and other departments, using industry best practices, and in line with guidelines from PMI, Agile Scrum, Kanban
  • Manage project schedules, costs, quality and compliance
  • Regularly publish project and application related health metrics. Identify gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Secure that project plans are realistic, maintained and properly resourced.
  • Ensure that operational systems are adequately supported. Manage the systems support teams/suppliers for the service delivery as per agreed SLA, manage production incidents, coordinate trouble shooting, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective / preventive actions.
  • Continuously review, recommend and implement service improvements for uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Contribute in preparation of Business – IT Strategy and IT Budgeting of assigned business divisions.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on expertise in design, implementation, and optimization of web applications and infrastructure.
  • Recruit, train, lead and develop a team of developers and mentor teams to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Ensure continuous alignment of IT initiatives, team objectives and priorities with the organizational strategy.
  • Manage project teams and members in onsite/offshore models.
Qualifications

About You


We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join our team.


  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the role of IT Project Manager, managing delivery and support for business-critical applications
  • Practical knowledge and experience in delivery of software applications projects using .NET or Java.
  • PMP Certification and/or Agile Scrum certification.
  • Experience in leading IT projects, ideally at a major airport and/or large companies, will be an added advantage
  • Good people management and senior leadership-level stakeholder management skills
  • Good knowledge of enterprise integration technologies and messaging frameworks.
