Process Support Engineering
Investigate and resolve issues that arise in the production process and utilize analytical skills to identify root causes and propose practical corrective actions. Implement solutions to prevent recurring problems and improve overall process reliability.
Proactively seeking opportunities to enhance processes, introduce new technologies, and implement best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence and cost reduction. Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
Maintain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the production process. Keep abreast of industry standards and regulations relevant to process engineering. Apply technical knowledge to optimize processes and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Collaborate effectively with production, quality assurance teams, and maintenance personnel. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to drive collaboration and achieve shared objectives.
Enhance unit monitoring of product yields, quality, endpoints, transfer temperatures, flow rates, catalyst productivity, and other relevant factors by developing advanced process monitoring tools. Utilize these tools to continuously monitor and assess the performance of designated equipment, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and providing recommendations.
Offer practical and effective solutions for plant upsets and operational challenges. Propose changes to operating procedures and instructions, as well as operational adjustments, to enhance efficiency and address issues. Review and update necessary documents such as alarm index, narrative control, Emergency Shutdown Procedures, Pressure Relief Valve forms, plant PID drawings, Control Valve data sheets, and other process-related materials. Conduct comprehensive plant walkthroughs to identify abnormal conditions and suggest improvements to the Lead Process Support Engineer.
Develop comprehensive process designs for engineering packages and actively oversee their implementation. Coordinate closely with Operations Specialists to ensure the successful execution of necessary plant changes, overseeing the entire process from initial investigation to design, construction, and start-up.
Participate in the PHA and MOC process by providing technical inputs and evaluating recommendations to ensure operational feasibility and compliance to safety standards.
Provide inputs to the project framing document with supporting mark-up documents to plant modifications and improvements (TWR Process). Develop scope of work and package for plant modifications during normal operations and Turnarounds, including feasibility analysis.
Specialty and experience in simulator Modelling for Process Unit operations troubleshooting is required.
Provide training and mentorship to junior team members to build a skilled and capable workforce. Share expertise and knowledge to support the professional development of team members. Contribute to
developing training materials and facilitate knowledge transfer within the organization.
Provide support for equipment inspections and associated process engineering recommendations.
Conduct risk assessments for process-related activities and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks. Prioritizing safety and identifying hazards to protect employees, equipment, and the environment.
Aligning process improvements with customer requirements and expectations. Seek customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to meet or exceed expectations. Contribute to the overall goal of ensuring high customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.
Utilize data analysis tools and software to analyze process performance and identify trends. Generate reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making and prioritize improvement initiatives.
Conduct thorough investigations to determine the root causes of process failures or deviations. Apply root cause analysis techniques, such as the 5 Whys, to identify underlying issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and prevent future occurrences.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement strategies to achieve budget targets. Monitor and track expenses, ensuring adherence to allocated budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
Mentor and coach junior team members to develop their skills and achieve their full potential.
