PurposeYou will provide process engineering services on large or mega projects to Worley' and its customers', including technical support and supervision within the process engineering team. Responsibilities
- Ensures recognized engineering practices applicable to HVAC design engineering are adopted within the discipline.
- Review designs, sketches and reports with supporting calculations for projects, and supply drafting staff with information to assist in the production of detailed drawings, the development of quantities, materials lists and cost estimates as required.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, load calculations, equipment selection, energy modeling, and relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, HAP, Duct and Pipe Design).
- Meet minimum requirement of Technical Authority level – 2.
- Ensure recognized engineering practices applicable are adopted
- Review detailed HVAC design documents, calculations, and specifications that adhere to regulatory standards and client requirements.
- Review and verify design deliverables produced by junior engineers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable practices, and propose innovative solutions to enhance HVAC system performance and efficiency.
- Drive the implementation of best practices and lessons learned to improve the overall quality of HVAC design processes.
- Lead the HVAC design efforts for complex projects, providing guidance on design strategies, system selection, and innovative solutions.
- Apply your advanced technical knowledge to perform detailed calculations, simulations, and analysis for HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and indoor comfort.
- Champion the integration of cutting-edge HVAC technologies and sustainable practices into project designs.
- Engage with clients to understand their unique HVAC needs, present design proposals, and address technical inquiries with clarity and professionalism.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering strong client relationships
Quality Assurance: Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.Safety: Responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures.Competent in implementing HSE in the design process, focuses on process safety and strives to use best practice.
Qualification
Technical and Industry Experience
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
- A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Competent use of mechanical engineering specific software.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Substantial technical land practical experience in mechanical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary
Required
- A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
Preferred:
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
