Main Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of piping systems.
Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and sketches to accurately measure and mark dimensions and reference lines.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Oversee the cutting, welding, fitting, and assembly of pipes, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
Conduct inspections to verify that work meets required quality and safety standards.
Collaborate with project supervisors and engineers to plan and execute work schedules.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
Provide training and guidance to junior staff and laborers.
Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of tools and equipment used in piping operations.
Address and resolve any on-site issues related to piping work promptly.
Coordinate with clients and inspection agencies, conduct inspections, maintain quality control, and prepare reports for welding and fabrication activities.
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Piping Foreman or similar role.
Strong knowledge of ship repair yard functions and activities.
Experience with ship operation pipelines, including sea water, fresh water, sewage lines, fuel lines, and hydraulic lines.
Familiarity with various piping materials such as cast steel, stainless steel, copper nickel, copper, brass, and PPR.
Ability to read and understand isometric drawings and P&ID drawings.
Working knowledge of English (verbal and written); knowledge of Hindi/Urdu is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of hydro testing, air pressure testing, and chemical flushing work.
