Position Overview
The
Multimedia Designer is a dynamic, creative professional responsible for
conceptualizing, designing, and producing engaging multimedia content to
enhance Oryx Universal College’s brand visibility and promote its academic
offerings. This role combines graphic design, videography, and digital media
expertise, ensuring that the college’s digital and physical outreach aligns
with OUC’s brand identity, vision, and strategic market engagement goals.
Key Responsibilities
1.Content
Creation and Design
- Develop visually compelling graphics,
videos and animations for use across digital platforms, including social
media, websites, and email marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Market Engagement
team to create designs that align with marketing objectives and branding
guidelines.
- Design materials for print and online
advertisements, brochures, banners, and other promotional items.
2.Video
Production and Editing
- Plan, shoot, and edit video content for
promotional, educational, and informational purposes.
- Work closely with departments to capture
events, interviews, and campus highlights, crafting engaging video content that
appeals to prospective students, parents, and partners.
- Implement post-production processes,
including editing, sound mixing, colour correction, and adding special effects.
3.Web
and Social Media Design
- Create graphics, animations, and
multimedia assets optimized for the OUC website and social media channels.
- Coordinate with the digital marketing
team to ensure consistency and visual appeal in all online media.
- Stay current with social media trends,
incorporating best practices to maximize engagement and reach.
4.Project
Management and Collaboration
- Work with various departments to
understand multimedia needs and translate them into effective design solutions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously,
meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality.
- Communicate with vendors when necessary
to produce physical media or handle specialized printing requirements.
5.Brand Identity and Compliance- Uphold and advance OUC's brand standards, ensuring all visual communications reflect the college's identity and values.
- Maintain consistency across all
multimedia materials, adhering to brand guidelines and compliance standards.
RequirementsSkills and Qualifications
Educational
Background: A recognised qualification in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Digital Media, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree would be a definite advantage.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in multimedia
design, preferably in a marketing or educational setting.
Technical
Skills:
- Proficiency in design software such as
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After
Effects).
- Strong understanding of video production
equipment, editing software, and graphic design tools.
Creative
Aptitude: Ability to
create innovative, eye-catching designs and videos that appeal to diverse
audiences.
Project
Management: Excellent
organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight
deadlines.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication
skills to effectively convey design ideas and collaborate with team members.
Preferred Attributes
Experience
in web design, content creation, or branding within a college or university
setting.
Familiarity
with UX/UI principles and responsive design for web and mobile applications.
Knowledge
of social media platforms, trends, and best practices in digital marketing.
Ability
to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
