Job Overview:
The Mobile Crane Operator is responsible for operating and driving mobile cranes to lift, move, and position loads such as heavy equipment, machinery, and materials at various construction, industrial, or oil and gas project sites. This role requires strict adherence to safety standards and operating procedures to ensure the smooth and secure handling of materials
Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate Mobile Cranes: Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position materials according to project requirements.
· Ensure safe operation and proper handling of the crane to prevent accidents and damage.
· Follow signals and instructions from ground personnel to maneuver the crane.
· Adjust crane settings to match load weight, type, and height.
· Load Handling: Inspect and secure loads properly, ensuring balance and alignment during lifting operations.
· Plan and calculate load weights and capacities for lifts.
· Secure loads properly using slings, shackles, and other rigging equipment.
· Monitor conditions such as wind speed and weather that could affect crane operation
· Site Coordination: Work closely with riggers, signaler’s, and ground personnel to ensure smooth and safe crane operations.
· Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the crane equipment, identifying and addressing potential issues, and ensuring operational safety.
· Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols and report any hazardous conditions or accidents immediately.
· Adhere to safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies at all times.
· Perform regular pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks of the crane and other equipment.
· Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions promptly.
· Ensure that the crane is safely positioned and that load paths are clear.
· Maintain a safe work environment by coordinating with other site workers
· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of crane activities, including lift records and maintenance reports.
· Complete safety checklists and submit reports on time.
· Worksite Preparation: Assess site conditions to determine the safest crane positioning and establish load limits.
· Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards for crane operations in the Ras Laffan region, including those specified by oil and gas project guidelines.
· Communication: Coordinate with riggers, supervisors, and other team members on the job site. Use hand signals, radios, or other forms of communication to ensure smooth operations. Participate in site meetings and briefings as required.

Qualification & Requirements ·
Crane Operator Certification: Valid Qatar Driving License (Crane) and additional certificate from an Authorized Authority

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating mobile cranes, ideally in the oil and gas sector or large-scale industrial projects.

Education: Minimum High School graduate with technical certifications
·
Communication Proficiency: Good English communication skills
·
Knowledge of Safety Standards: Familiarity with international safety standards, especially those applicable to oil and gas environments (e.g., HSE, OSHA).

Physical Fitness: Must be physically capable of performing the job’s duties, including working in outdoor and demanding environments

Communication Skills: Ability to understand and follow instructions from riggers, signaler’s’, and other team members.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess and address operational challenges efficiently.
