Job summary
MISSION:
Responsible for overseeing the mechanical commissioning phases, ensuring that systems and equipment are fully operational and meet the design specifications before handover. This role requires extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector, particularly in LNG and offshore environments, with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance with project timelines.
TASKS:
Lead and supervise all mechanical commissioning activities on site, ensuring that systems are commissioned in line with project specifications, timelines, and safety protocols. Manage and coordinate the activities of the mechanical commissioning team, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. Review and approve commissioning procedures, ensuring they align with industry standards and client requirements. Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and resource allocation for mechanical systems, including rotating equipment, piping, valves, and other mechanical installations. Oversee mechanical system testing, including hydrotesting, flushing, alignment, and functional testing of mechanical equipment. Ensure that commissioning tests are conducted safely and efficiently, and that results are accurately documented. Supervise troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications as necessary during the commissioning process. Verify that all mechanical commissioning documentation, test results, and punch lists are completed and signed off. Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all commissioning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. Ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed during high-risk activities such as equipment testing, lifting, and pressure testing. Conduct risk assessments and ensure the mitigation of potential hazards during commissioning operations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; 15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas field with a focus on LNG and Offshore Projects. Previous experience with Qatargas standards. Fluent level of English, written and spoken.
