Duties & Responsibilities
Perform all activities necessary for Material Preservation in a large scale site construction environment.
Functions
- Responsible for surveillance, inspection, and audit of the project preservation program.
- Routinely inspect materials from receipt through to commissioning phase to ensure preservation requirements and prevent degradation.
Main Accountabilities
- Identifies, records, and follows up on items which fail to meet specified standards
- Familiar with Company's SAP database for quarantined spare parts
- Ensures that short- and long-term preservations are carried out in accordance with manufacturers' stated requirements
- Ensure requirements to protect stainless steel materials is verified for compliance during procurement, storage, and construction phases.
- Assists with retrieval / storage of data / information on Company's intranet
- Verify preservation activities and ensure protection of equipment and materials in laydown areas, site storage zones, quarantine areas, warehousing, and site construction areas.
- Verify receiving inspection of all equipment and materials arriving at the construction site prior to transportation to SUBCONTRACTOR fabrication facilities.
- Verify storage protection and preservation activities at site is performed in accordance with VENDORS prior instructions
- Inspect marking to protect materials and equipment during extended site storage as required.
- Verify CONTRACTOR(s) and SUBCONTRACTOR storage of equipment and materials is performed in accordance with VENDORS requirements and project specifications.
- Conducting preservation activities for Equipment and Materials
- Training and educating the workforce on preservation awareness
- Conduct Preservation audits and assessments
- Provide input to metrics and reporting of preservation activities

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities.
Reporting Relationship
- Reports to Project Manager (PM) as line manager. Project Coordinator will support PM on issuing instructions or communications to employee.
- Daily contact and technical reporting to site client contact or client Quality Team representatives.
- Employee shall report the results of all vendor and construction site inspections on a weekly basis or more frequently as advised by client for a specific task. Inspection reports shall clearly show the items / activities inspected, inspection status, acceptance criteria, and follow-up action as necessary. Inspection reports shall be in a paper or electronic format as agreed to by client.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL
- Degree/diploma in mechanical or materials engineering discipline
- 5 years’ experience of materials and equipment inspection
- Knowledge of equipment receiving inspection, storage, and preservation requirements.
- Good knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Must be aware of the concepts for materials and equipment preservation for large scale construction projects.
DESIRED
- 5 years experience in Materials and Preservation inspection in oil and gas construction.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in Materials and Preservation Inspection and degree/diploma in mechanical or materials engineering discipline.
