Job Description

Job Purpose:

To understand the needs of the current and future customers and the competitive market conditions to devise and

deliver a marketing strategy that builds brand equity for the company across all its stores, service lines, and retail

outlets. Determine and utilise appropriate above the line and below the line budgets to drive footfall to the stores and

convert to sales once there.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute towards the formulation and implementation of overall business strategy and plan.
  2.  Lead the implementation of the Marketing strategy across all sections in order to achieve and exceed the targeted performance.
  3.  Formulate the annual divisional goals and budget, incorporating inputs from the individual sections and ensure that adequate provision is made for all activities and resources required for the year.
  4.  Establish divisional performance dashboards to monitor and measure achievement of the plan and strategy across all sections within the division.
  5.  Guide and facilitate the development of Division policies in line with the overall strategic objectives of the company.
  6.  Ensure compliance across all the sections for the policies and procedures and ensure that they are regularly updated.
  7. Lead the implementation of the marketing strategy and plan in line with the overall company strategy.
  8. Work in conjunction with the managers to analyse the manpower requirements to formulate the annual manpower budget and plan for the division in line with the company’s objectives.
  9.  Procure and manage customer insight for the business, providing business intelligence on current and future customer needs that will enable informed decision making by the management.
  10. Construct and manage the promotional and event calendar driven by customer’s needs.
  11.   Build and drive commercial campaigns to deliver improved footfall in the company stores.
  12.   Build the company's brand equity by ensuring appropriate use of media through the right mix of agencies and channels ensuring that the brand offers and media messages are regularly refreshed.
  13.   Utilise Public Relations to maintain the company’s consistent brand position and contribute to events that build brand equity.
  14.   Control the budget for media spend and measure the return of investment based on revenue or footfall improvement.
  15.   Participate in the top management debate representing the Marketing Division needs and challenges.
  16.   Review and assess performance of the Marketing team.
