About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of IT Physical Security Systems to oversee the design, implementation, and management of all IT-related physical security systems at Hamad International Airport. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the security of airport infrastructure through advanced technology solutions and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to safeguard critical assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develops the medium to long term IT strategy for Physical Security (ELV) Systems and technologies at HIA that include: integrated airside-landside Video Surveillance System (VSS / CCTV), and Access Control System (ACS), Video Analytics (VA) & Computer Vision System, Face Recognition System & other Biometric Systems; taxiway Traffic Light Control, airside Panoramic Video Surveillance and Runway Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Detection Systems.
• Researches on emerging industry trends and initiatives for Physical Security Systems and technologies in order to recommend proposals for their application at HIA to achieve tangible benefits and improve passenger experience.
• Manages the professional and efficient:System Administration, operations, documentation, maintenance and support of the above systems; and ensures restricted access to the production environments of these systems, in compliance with the ID and Access Management policies.
• Develops technical expertise within the department for the above systems; and accountable for effective allocationof suitably qualified resourcesfor design, implementation, technicalsupport, system administration, business support, and projects based on their skill level and operational/strategic priorities.
• Accountable for the delivery of projects as part of new capabilities in Physical Security Systems (ELV Systems) domain, ensuring that the assigned programs and projects meet the business needs as per approved scope & specifications; and they are delivered within the approved cost and schedule, with the acceptable quality.
• Manages ITIL service aspects of the above systems to minimize negative impact on the Business by leading recovery of service failures within SLA and ensuring prompt and effective root cause analysis to avoid recurrence; and for formal reporting on the performance of the systems.
• Accountable for the lifecycle management of the above systems; their highest availability through redundancy and resilience; compliance with applicable local and international regulations; and capacity management.
• Accountable for contract ownership and execution; and maintaining professional relationship with external suppliers for the above systems; and to ensure optimized usage of licenses.
• Prepares Annual Budget for the above systems based on business and operational requirements, capacity planning, adoption of new technology and addressing obsolescence.
• Leads assessing interoperability and impact of the above systems on the IT Network and passive infrastructurecapacity; and to apply relevant understanding of storage technologiesand image compression/optimization options to minimize storage capacity and Data Centre footprint.
• Accountable for compliance to ISO 20000 standards, ensuring that associated Quality KPIs are met. Adhere to IT project governance methodology and deliverables, in compliance to all relevant company policies and controls.
• Accountable for compliance to ISO 27001 standards, ensuring that company security policies are complied with, IT/ Cyber security risks for the associated IT services are proactively identified. Resolve the identified security vulnerabilities as a high priority and as per committed schedule.
• Accountable for the regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders to prepare roadmap for the technology, meeting business objectives. Gather all business requirements related to IT, listen their concerns and consider them as service improvement.
• Engage stakeholders during entire lifecycle of the project to ensure that deliverables are meeting stakeholder requirements.
• Support Procurement Dept in optimizing investment/costs for IT Services by providing widest technical options. Review maintenance contracts regularly to ensure scope is up-to-date and look for opportunities to improve service levels and reduce operating costs.
• Lead expert technical consultancy, guidance and support for the above systems to all stakeholders, team members and other IT teams for: technology architecture and design requirements; project support including cost estimates; Incident and Problem Management; and System Administration activities.
• Establish the team’s objectives & KPIs and priorities to align with and support business objectives. Regularly evaluate the team’s objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
• Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

About you:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering / Computer Science Engineering or equivalent from accredited university
• 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing Physical Security System technologies and solutions.
