Secondary Reporting to: Heads of Middle and High School



In order to fulfill this role as the Leader of the Research Hub/MS & HS Teacher Librarian, needs to have a diverse range of qualities, competencies and experience. The candidate must be someone who fosters a culture of inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking. He/She serves as an integral part of the school community, leading the library as a dynamic hub of learning and innovation. With strong communication skills and a passion for lifelong learning, the Leader of Research Hub inspires both students and staff to explore, discover, and engage with diverse sources of information. He/she ensure the research hub is a space for inclusive learning, supporting the development of digital, media, and information literacy. As a leader, he/she champions the ethical use of information, advocates for equitable access to resources, and continuously seeks to enhance the research hub’s role in fostering student achievement and creativity.


Requirements

1. Qualifications and experience.



1.1       a good degree and a recognized teaching qualification or certification ideally in Teacher Librarianship or media specialist 



1.2       at least 5 years of experience and/or qualifications in an IB School library environment 



 2 Knowledge and Skills. He/She should: 



2.1       be aligned with the ISL values of diversity, passion, identity and understanding 



2.2       possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international school; in particular he/she should be able to communicate effectively in English 



2.3       show genuine interest in all students and ensure that the IB Learner profile and attitudes are prominent aspects of their school life 



2.4       be able to participate fully in an expanding IB school and, in particular, help to develop the team spirit within the Secondary school 



2.5       provide guidance and leadership to all employees who work directly or indirectly in the library
