An international EM venture capital fund is looking to build a greenfield fund in Doha. As a result, the firm are seeking an experienced Investment Manager to lead investments across both GCC and South East Asia start-ups. This fund aims to deploy capital into a range of start-ups across the GCC and wider MENA region at Pre-seed to Series A and beyond.
About the Role
Being the Principal for the Middle East and SEA Fund, this role will be responsible for sourcing and executing transactions across both jurisdictions. The firm have highlighted a number of Venture Partners to introduce founders looking to raise capital, allowing you to leverage these relationships. This role has a view to becoming managing partner of the ME fund in the mid to long term.
This will be a very hands-on role and the opportunity to build a leading fund in the GCC’s VC ecosystem, having a tangible effect on driving start up growth and developing the new wave of GCC founders. The firm have a commercial first approach to investing which is underpinned by a meaningful investment approach.
About you
The ideal candidate must have 7+ years VC/Growth/PE investment experience, ideally with exposure to both Middle East and SE Asia transactions. Having a solid understanding of the region’s start up landscape is critical alongside strong relationships with LPs and Founders in the region. Arabic speaker is also essential for this position.
