The role of the Inclusion Assistant (Shadow) is to provide personalized support and facilitate an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs, enabling them to actively participate and succeed in mainstream classrooms.




Requirements
  1. Qualifications and experience. The school prefers people with:


  • Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent​

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in special education, inclusive practices, or related fields

  1. Knowledge and Skills. He/She should:


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in English

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting diverse learners

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to various classroom environments and student needs

  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and specialized equipment (preferred)

  • Have a high level of understanding as to how children learn and possess the ability to motivate the specified student to perform at his/her best

  1. Responsibilities.



  • Student Support: Provide one-on-one support to students with needs to facilitate their participation in general education classes. Adapt and modify curriculum materials as needed to meet individual student needs. 



  • Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, Head of Inclusion, and other school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and accommodation strategies for students. 



  • Inclusive Environment: Promote an inclusive classroom environment by fostering acceptance, understanding, and respect among all students. Encourage peer support and positive social interactions. 



  • Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, collect data on student performance, and report to the Head of Inclusion or classroom teacher. Provide feedback on strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement.
