Job Description

Job Summary

The HR Government Affairs Team Leader is responsible for planning, developing and implementing processes associated to Government Related Documentation and prepare archiving system to retain and retrieve department information, including analyzing, referencing and recording and documentation, contracts, and variations in the relevant files to ensure on time delivery of requirements to the organization.




Job Responsibilities 1

Contribute to the development and execution of the department’s short to mid-term plans to ensure alignment with the division’s strategic priorities and contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial objectives.


Monitor, control and report key performance indicators related to the department, to track performance and recommend corrective actions.


Manage the performance management, career progression and activities of direct reports by setting annual objectives, identifying training opportunities, mentoring, coaching and providing constructive feedback to improve their performance.


Contribute with ideas that support an efficient and effective structure and resource allocation for the department, to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilization of resources.


Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of the department’s budget, monitor financial performance during the year and identify areas of unsatisfactory performance (if any), and recommend mitigating actions.


Oversee and monitor the implementation of an improvement process for all immigration and labor records to be tracked and maintained through the established organization system


Assist in developing, managing, periodical review, and communicating Government relations policies and processes to ensure organization compliances.


Ensure to resolve immigration related issues in a timely manner


Ensure proper dissemination and keep the HR team informed of significant problems that may jeopardize the achievement of           Company goals, and those are not being addressed adequately.


Facilitate and attend to employee queries regarding details of immigration formalities, and entitlements


Manage the team in processing of all immigration requirements in the most effective and efficient manner to expedite on boarding of new employees


Ensure the team to update relevant business areas with issues, risks, and statuses of immigration/government processes and provide relevant solutions in a timely manner.


Ensure immigration processes are completed in minimal time including Resident Permits, Drivers Licenses, Visas, CID procedures, etc.


Ensure a report of relevant expiry dates and ensure that all time-sensitive documents and licenses are renewed ahead of deadline to  ensure full compliance and avoid fines.


Ensure that the GA team maintains employee files and documents relevant to immigration transactions.


In charge of the preparation of the internal memos and responsible in the proper monitoring of the reference numbers assigned in all department’s correspondences.

Job Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and government policies is essential for navigating complex legal frameworks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.


Strong communication and advocacy skills are vital for representing the organization's interests to government agencies, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.


Proficiency in research and analysis enables the identification of legislative and regulatory trends, as well as the assessment of potential impacts on HR practices and policies.


Experience in lobbying, government relations, or public affairs enhances the ability to influence legislative and regulatory outcomes in favor of the organization's objectives.


Leadership and strategic planning skills are important for developing and implementing government affairs strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and priorities.


ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.




Job Experience

Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
