About the job GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER (ASSOCIATE)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of an Associate Geotechnical Engineer is to support and assist senior geotechnical engineers in analyzing subsurface conditions, designing foundations, and evaluating soil and rock stability for construction projects. As a developing professional in the field, an Associate Geotechnical Engineer plays a vital role in carrying out technical tasks, such as conducting site investigations, performing laboratory tests, and using specialized software for geotechnical analysis.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a variety of geotechnical engineering tasks to complete site investigations including site investigations supervision, rock core logging, rock characterization, supervision of lab testing and review of geotechnical factual data.
- Review of Geotechnical Factual Report and Preparation of Geotechnical Interpretative Reports
- Perform analysis and calculations for bearing capacity, soil and rock slope stability, excavations support systems, retaining walls, tunnels and ground improvement works.
- Assist in developing design drawings, calculation reports and technical specifications
- Support other engineering activities as required by the Senior/Principal engineer
- Supervise CAD team as per project task assigned
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Civil / Geological / Geotechnical Engineering with no related work experience. Candidate shall have the ability to apply basic engineering principles, techniques, and analysis within the geotechnical discipline.
- Knowledge of various aspects of Rock Mechanics
- Familiar with the core engineering software packages as those are mentioned below: GeoStudio, Settle 3, Unwedge, Plaxis, AutoCAD
- Be self-motivated and remain under close supervision with superiors on committed tasks
- Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports with organized structure and minimal need for grammatical corrections, and to hold articulate verbal communications.
- Candidate will be requested to proceed with the MME registration once joining the company.
- Familiarity with Revit software
- Native-level English speaking and writing skills.
