Job Description
The Fleet Planning SME reports to
the Fleet Planning Lead and through the effective utilisation of subject matter
knowledge and experience be able to support the delivery of fleet planning at
strategic and tactical levels, to enable the maximisation of operational
efficiency and minimisation of costs.
The Post Holder should have good/
strong quantitative and analytical skills/experience, with lean management
principles, and be an effective, credible communicator with good interpersonal
skills.
They will require an understanding of the Aircraft
maintenance schedule and have a good understanding of the relationships with interfacing
areas.Core Activities:- Developing and producing strategic
fleet plans and fleet scenario/options modelling, to inform strategic decision
making and determine the operational prioritisation for the fleet.
- Generating and agreeing tactical
fleet and maintenance plans for the designated fleet, including rolling
forecasts in line with contractual and operational requirements, of all
scheduled maintenance events, both On and Off aircraft.
- Undertaking the planning of
aircraft and component maintenance to ensure compliance with the operator
maintenance programme, mandatory requirements, applicable technical
instructions and capability embodiment programmes. Take ownership of the
creation of the Statement of Work (SoW) and maintain oversight of the generation
of maintenance work packs.
- Working with the customer,
maintenance tasking & verification team , Part 145 organisation and all
other key stakeholders, in order to deliver the required standards of continuing
airworthiness and contract delivery.
- Reviewing and reporting on the effectiveness of
the SoW, pre-input and post-output review meeting (PIRM & PORM)
processes and work scope completion achieved during aircraft and component
maintenance events, across all responsible maintenance locations. Ensure any
trends are identified and escalated.
- Ensuring changes in the customer’s requirements
are reviewed and implemented in the aircraft and component maintenance plans,
e.g. fatigue life limits, capability upgrades, customer-approved modification
programmes, etc. Ensure all issues are addressed within the SoW and to the
applicable timescales
Requirements- Minimum of a
recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevant discipline or suitable
equivalent.
- Understands the regulatory framework
and its applicability to the fleet planning processes and activities.
- Able to build good relationships
with customers, Part 145 Organisation and other key stakeholders’ personnel.
- Have operational knowledge and
understanding of the platform contract, the fleet’s performance and the business
key performance metrics.
- Demonstrate
an understanding of reliability programmes and the impact of their findings on
the operator maintenance programme.
