About this role


As a Service Technician with Carrier, you will uniquely impact our customers, becoming the face of the confidence we stand by while ensuring their comfort. Your knowledge of Commercial HVAC will be critical in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. Chances to work independently and as a team will highlight your ability to both collaborate and individually make on-the-job decisions. In this role, your key responsibilities will be the following:


  • Follow standard processes to accomplish tasks (Understand & follow oral and written directions)


  • Essential Task Description: (daily tasks and duties) including daily timesheet


  • Attend & complete assigned tasks within assigned time to the best ability and ensure quality services & customer satisfaction. Leave site clean & neat


  • Keep customer informed with the task nature & progress upon site arrival & prior leaving work site. Share outstanding issues & suggested enhancements / recommendations


  • Fill up Job Completion Certificate / Job Card / EH&S site surveys


  • Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation & diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and make recommendations


  • Make estimates of labor hours & materials required


  • Prepare Inspection reports (Site condition, SOW & Technical recommendations)


  • Possess basic knowledge of computers and cell phone apps


  • Repair and replace damaged parts


  • Work independently in the absence of supervision


  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance & Maintain maintenance records


  • Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; cleans coils, blowers, checks motors, and belt tensions


  • Work closely with colleagues as part of an integrated team


  • Recognize safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations, and identify and implement appropriate controls to ensure safe work


  • Identify situations that require escalation or elevation to Supervisor or Manager for guidance or need to request additional support


  • Able to rig & properly set up gantry for safely lifting equipment, overhauling pumps, chillers etc.


  • Manage & organize machinery tools pickup, delivery, usage & inventory as applicable


  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required


  • Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely


  • Attend regular (EH&S / Technical) Trainings & meetings


Who we’re looking for 


As a Service Technician, you should have the following:


Knowledge of:


  • Principles and practices of HVAC equipment’s maintenance and repair inline with industry practices & manufacturer’s guidelines


  • Hazar & Safety practices and procedures used in installing, repairing & maintaining HVAC equipment and MSDS sheets.


  • Overall understanding & practices of tools utilization & management


  • Preparation & filling of inspection reports / Technical reports


  • Overall understanding & complying with quality management practices as per company standards & any other applicable quality standards


  • Good English knowledge in terms of speaking, writing, reading & listening


  • Communication & inter-personal skills, team player & customer oriented


  • Basic understanding & knowledge in Metal sheets, electrical, carpentry & Building Automation controls



Qualifications:


  • Diploma (or equivalent) in Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Field


  • 3 – 5 years of working experience in the HVAC industry / field


  • A valid driving license is a plus


Minimum Product Knowledge:


  • DX & Airside Equipment


  • Reciprocating chillers


  • Screw Chillers


  • Scroll Chillers
