The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food manufacturing plant. This includes ensuring that all production processes are efficient, meet quality standards, and comply with safety regulations. The Factory Manager will lead and manage a team of production supervisors and workers, monitor production schedules, and coordinate with other departments to achieve company objectives.
Production Management:
• Oversee the entire production process, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
• Develop and implement production plans to meet business objectives, including production schedules, staffing requirements, and material resources.
• Monitor production metrics and adjust processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Quality Control:
• Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement and maintain food safety and quality management systems.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the factory.
• Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Promote a culture of safety among all factory employees.
Team Leadership:
• Manage, train, and develop a team of production supervisors and workers.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
• Oversee inventory levels to ensure that materials are available for production while minimizing excess stock.
• Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
• Develop and manage the factory’s operating budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial goals.
• Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to keep the factory at the forefront of food manufacturing technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production management role, preferably in the food industry.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO standards).
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
