Job Description

Job Summary: The Facilities Electrical Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the electrical infrastructure of Oryx Universal College. This position entails the design, analysis, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within the college's facilities to ensure a safe and efficient operation.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. System Maintenance and Repair:


    • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all electrical systems, including lighting, power supplies, and emergency systems.
    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, and respond to electrical emergencies in a timely manner.
    • Coordinate with external contractors when necessary for specialized repairs and installations.
  2. Project Management:


    • Oversee electrical projects from conception through completion, ensuring compliance with national safety standards and codes.
    • Prepare detailed plans and drawings for electrical systems modifications and upgrades.
    • Manage and document project progress, budget, and compliance with specifications.
  3. Safety and Compliance:


    • Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct safety audits and participate in the college’s health and safety committee meetings.
    • Provide training and guidance on electrical safety to the maintenance staff.
  4. Energy Management:


    • Monitor energy usage and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption and costs.
    • Advice on the selection and installation of energy-efficient technologies.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives related to electrical energy.
  5. Documentation and Records:


    • Maintain accurate records of electrical blueprints, schematics, maintenance logs, and reports.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on system status, upgrades, and energy efficiency measures to the Building Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Licensed as a professional engineer in Qatar.
  • Possession of a valid Qatar ID card.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in electrical systems maintenance and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international electrical systems, codes, and health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
