ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of an Electrical Design Engineer is to design, develop, and oversee the implementation of electrical systems and components for various projects. The primary goals are to ensure that electrical systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop electrical systems and components for Power Distribution projects.
• Utilize Trimble ProDesign software for electrical design, simulation, and analysis.
• Update and maintain Power Distribution system projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Create and update load schedules, ensuring accurate load calculations and distribution.
• Perform electrical calculations to determine system requirements and ensure optimal performance.
• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and documentation.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as required to ensure design implementation aligns with project specifications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, standards, and best practices in electrical design.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in Power Distribution projects.
• Proficiency in Trimble ProDesign software is essential.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, standards, and regulations.
• Experience with electrical load calculations and distribution systems.
• Proficient in using CAD software and other design tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
