Design & Development Engineer

Duties:

•Plans designs & conducts the Power Supply Schemes to feed Domestic, Commercial, Light & Heavy Industry consumers, private infrastructure projects, and other big utility projects and ensures all necessary quality standards are adhered to.

•Provide support to Network Analysis Unit in preparation of load flow and resulting reinforcement schemes.

•Deal with QATAR Design Review System (QDRS) applications for the schemes.

•Process Building Permit and prepare Schemes for Bulk Customers (5MW & above),including liaising with Customer Service Department and Electricity Network Planning on all matters related to BUILDING PERMIT, service notes, and cost estimates etc. and ensures all necessary quality standards are adhered to.

•Manage, control and coordinate all works related to Consultants/Consultants Submittals, participate in weekly meetings and coordinate internally (KAHRAMAA concerned departments) & externally (MME and others) to approve supply schemes.

•To liaise with Planning Department in MME / Land Department for substations site allocation and route approvals through the online MME system.

•Undertakes and performs all relevant studies pertaining to MV load flow, fault level analysis, short circuit protection coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, harmonic analysis etc. in order to Analyse the network performance

•Develops all necessary reports pertaining to distribution network (monthly, annual statistical reports, quarterly performance reports etc.) to track progress against agreed objectives

•Carries out and ensures compliance of all activities within the Distribution Network Design and Development Section are in-line with KAHRAMAA health and safety regulations

•To perform any other related duty as required by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a reputed university with Minimum 7-year experience in distribution network design and development.•Past experience with system analysis
