One of our prestigious clients is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their team in
Doha which requires a good mixture of technical and interpersonal skills as
listed below.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
At
least a Bachelor’s (preferably Master’s) degree in Computer Science, Data
Science and Analysis or in a related field.
Over
10 years’ experience in the industry with strong SQL and data analysis skills
gained through ETL, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Big Data
environments.
Solid
software development experience using Oracle PL/SQL for a good number of years.
Working
experience of RDBMs, structured (i.e. JSON, XML) and unstructured data formats.
Practical
experience of Elastic Search including data manipulation on a record or bulk
level and Index management.
A
solid and recent experience in NiFi development and support, preferably as an
SME.
Experience
in using Linux, RedHat/CentOS
6, RPM (RedHat Package Manager), SDLC
Methodology, Agile, Jira, Database Administration, Performance tuning/query optimization, Python, test driven/behavior driven development processes.
Experience
in building and optimising `big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data
sets.
Excellent
problem-solving skills including the ability to analyse and resolve complex
problems using data working closely with the business users and developers.
Experience
performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to
answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Experience
working with both internal and external customer data including data quality.
Experience
in end-to-end implementation of data engineering projects, especially ETL
involving sourcing data from disparate systems and data fusion.
Experience
in a support environment i.e. keeping track and managing of production support
tickets pertaining to the specific systems and follow through until the ticket
is resolved whilst ensuring that the Service Level Agreements are met for each
assigned incident.
Ability
to pick up new tools and technologies.
