JOB SUMMARY:
The Coordinator Resuscitation provides general support and coordination of Resuscitation Program issues to the Clinical Manager - Hospital Resuscitation and clinical support to the department staff as appropriate. He/she implements the Resuscitation Program systems, policies and procedures. He/she assists the Manager in all program duties, including project planning, education programming and commissioning activities as well as collaborates with other departments regarding unit operations and staff development as directed by the Manager. The incumbent is expected to engage with a wide range of health provider stakeholders and shares responsibility for promoting, facilitating and providing resuscitation education. He/she provides clinical support under the direction of the Code team Nurse. He/she also contributes to quality improvement in resuscitation practices through audit and participation in the Resuscitation Committee. The incumbent may have the opportunity to be involved and develop skills in simulation teaching.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for the facilitation of organizational and clinical activities within the Hospital and Out-Patient Center for resuscitation services under the direction of the Manager.
- Identifies possible improvements to the Resuscitation Program and makes recommendations to the Manager accordingly.
- Responsible for the maintenance and operation of all Code Carts located in Hospital and Out-Patient Center, including troubleshooting problems and liaising with Nursing Staff, materials management and biomedical engineering on any identified issues.
- Responsible for maintaining all of the forms, checklists and documents associated with the Code Carts.
- Audits all Rapid Response, Code Blue and Family Help Events to ensure adherence to all relevant Policies and Procedures.
- Communicates any lack of compliance to Policies and Procedures discovered on audit to involve Department/Service Manager for correction, education and follow up.
- Participates in collecting audit data. To be judged against national benchmarks and agreed standards of care from quality assurance bodies and prepares monthly reports of same.
- Recognizes potential risk situations.
- Develops and implements long and short term goals and objectives for self, in collaboration with the Manager.
- Observes and evaluates trends in resuscitation.
- Communicates technical medical concepts and practices in simple non-technical language based on the audience.
- Participates and directs other staff members involved in the operationalization of the Resuscitation Program.
- Proficiently coordinates training and instruction in various areas, such as ACLS, PALS, BLS and other certification courses.
- Proficiently performs computerized word processing, comprehension, summarizing and writing/editing; use of database, spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- Handles multiple projects simultaneously and use good judgment in prioritizing work assignments.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with management, co-workers and representatives from other institutions.
- Operates a variety of standard office equipment including computer, telephone, and copy and fax machine.
- Operates a variety of clinical equipment including AED, defibrillator/monitor, and portable suction.
- Instructs staff on the proper use of emergency ambulance stretchers and wheelchairs.
- Maintains and ensures compliance with all Manufacturer’s Instructions related to all Resuscitation Program equipment.
- Contributes to an effective partnership by bringing excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a history of excellent relationship abilities, quality knowledge, personal integrity, team ethics and the ability to lead and implement change.
- Assists with planning and procurement of consumables and specialized equipment.
- Acts as a clinical resource to other departments and for the integrated IT build.
- Follows and ensures adherence to the mandatory training requirements for the Hospital.
- Collaborates with SimCenter to ensure that the resuscitation training rooms is a clean and safe environment and manikins are maintained in a sanitary condition.
- Contributes to maintaining an environment conducive to learning and development.
- Attends and takes minutes at Resuscitation Committee meetings; updates the action log.
- Coordinates/collaborates with other departments to deliver on required services/program needs.
- Assists with the identification of education needs that are related to resuscitation.
- Maintains and collects the data for monthly reporting to measure progress and hospital performance.
- Actively promotes quality in all areas of work.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
ESSENTIAL PREFERRED Education Bachelor's degree in Nursing Prehospital training Experience 2+ years of Nursing Experience in a Critical Care Environment with previous experience that requires auditing and communications Certification and Licensure Relevant Licensure and/or Certification in
Country of Origin.

- Principles of hospital delivery systems and resuscitative services
- Supply issues related to delivery of resuscitative services.
- Process of disease transmission and infection control.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to cope with rapid and sustained change, competing demands and tight deadlines.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electronic documentation, archiving and organization skills.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Demonstrated knowledge of JCI Accreditation Standards and State of Qatar Standards of Care.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of Hospital Information systems, either as an end user, super user, or CIS build contributor.
- Experience organizing data, generating accurate & timely reports.
- Knowledge of hospital resuscitation procedures and best practices in the field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other database management software.
- Spoken knowledge of Arabic Language would be an added advantage.
