We are seeking a Consultant Clinical Scientist in Clinical Microbiology or Virology OR a Physician Clinical Microbiologist to join a great team that is made up of individuals who have already identified the work satisfaction and quality of life that is to be enjoyed by pioneering the delivery of a new laboratory service in a country that is so welcoming.
Having fully opened 24/7 in 2018 it now has over 50 services for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency treatment. These include tertiary services such as paediatric cardiac surgery, renal transplantation surgery and treatment of patients with metabolic diseases. In order to support developments such as these, the Department of Pathology is continuing to expand the repertoire of testing it provides. In relation to Clinical Biochemistry, this includes specialist paediatric analyses using the latest technologies.
The primary responsibilities of the Clinical Scientist or a Physician are the provision of laboratory service; diagnostic testing, test interpretation, communication with medical staff, quality control, and assurance; participation in the management of the Division; teaching at various levels; basic and applied research; sharing responsibility for all aspects of laboratory functions including diagnostic testing, maintaining quality assurance programs, and training of laboratory staff, residents and fellows within the Division.
