Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties include but not limited to:
a) Plans the cathodic protection systems surveys for all transformer rectifiers, sacrificial anode systems, continuity and cross bonding points and insulating flanges. Plans the cathodic protection annual surveys for all pipelines and storage tanks. Leads the corrosion technician team on site where appropriate.
b) Analyses all generated CP data and makes decisions for further action where appropriate (troubleshooting, specialist surveys or refurbishment).
c) Prepares CP reports (periodic and ad hoc), scopes of work for specialist CP surveys, scopes of work for CP refurbishment.
d) Arranges supervision of contractors on CP jobs, typically technicians for refurbishment jobs.
e) Reviews documentation for new projects.
RequirementsQualifications
Shall possess Graduate in engineering discipline or at least a Higher Diploma in Engineering and should have at least certification from NACE as CP Technologist (Level III).
The candidate shall be able to communicate, fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
He shall be computer literate and familiar with MS Word and Excel. He shall be able to work under own initiative.
The work entails a high percentage time on site.
a. A minimum experience of Ten (10) years in Cathodic Protection.
b. Capable to carryout SACP and ICCP surveys.
c. Capable to review the field monitored data and interpret the results.
d. Proficient in CIPS and DCVG surveys and interpretations.
e. Proficient in PSP surveys and interpretations
f. Capable to carry out the Tank internals/bottom CP surveys and interpretations.
g. Capable to understand the CP failure root cause and provide recommendations.
h. Prepare monitoring reports.
i. Coordinate to work with Qatar Energy Corrosion Management team.
j. Ability to provide quality reports in accordance with Qatar Energy procedure.
k. Good command of English language both written and spoken is required
