About the role


In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing Qatar Airways (QR) catering operations worldwide on a 24x7 basis, ensuring that every flight departs on time, with the agreed menus, stores, bars and equipment in a safe and compliant way. You will manage the performance of catering suppliers by tracking and measuring it with agreed standards, delivering performance improvement and enabling QR provide 5-star dining experience to the customers at all time.


As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following:


  • Owns (As Key Account Manager), the management of supply of catering services from a group of stations, being accountable for implementing and ensuring the operational performances (SOPs) in line with budgeted costs, minimization of meal wastage and along with it, identifying saving opportunities region-wise for the business.
  • Support leadership through inspiring and challenging nominated services providers to deliver catering service in line with food safety, halal and operational performance standards for QR, QRE and Cargo operations in the network / region wise.
  • Maintain integrity of QR systems to support required business outputs through audits and delivery of training programs, as necessary, for the suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for reporting monthly supplier performance index and trend in a view to conduct periodical reviews and maintain supplier performance award scheme.
  • Implement improvement plans as required and liaison with the suppliers to co-ordinate activities so that they deliver expectations of other QR internal and external stakeholders, in terms of compliance, product and service offering.
  • Owns responsibility of the daily operational aspects of inflight service inclusive of taking appropriate action during disruptions and irregular operations 24/7 and conducting flight checks and performance audits in DOH and Outstations, to ensure standards are adhered to, issues identified for recovery process, and supplier rectification aiming no compromise to QR standards.
  • Ensuring detailed investigation into non-compliances found by external stakeholders (Flight Operations, Ground Services etc.) are carried out, and that corrective action plans are initiated.
  • Co-ordination, planning and facilitating to support all new station startups and close downs, including management of all operational disruptions.
  • Establish the teams’ objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives and oversee and supervise employees, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Consult the Group's Data Protection Officer in matters related to data protection and privacy as appropriate.
Qualifications

About you


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 6+ years of job-related experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to cope with a high degree of ambiguity and change.
  • High level of computer literacy especially in MS Excel and have analytical thinking with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills and ability to foster team work among team members.
