Job Objective
The Business Excellence Specialist focuses on improving organizational performance by analyzing and implementing best practices. The Business Excellence Specialist role is fundamental to driving the organization's journey to excellence.
The role works closely with all levels of the organization, including Senior Management and cross-functional teams, to align the organization’s processes and capabilities with its overall goals and objectives. This may involve implementing new technology, re-engineering processes, and changing the way we work throughout Qatar Cool.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Business Excellence Framework:
- Support the adoption of Qatar Cools Framework of Excellence, its maintenance, and continual improvement.
- Assisting the implementation and execution of the EFQM roadmap with the Senior Management Team as to structure all related activities through the corporate leadership relating to Direction, Execution and Results.
- Leading and participating in BE Assessments, identifying good and best practices internally for learning and recognition and externally for adoption.
- Training, advising, and coaching others in EFQM and QCFE-related matters.
- Determining suitable performance benchmarks for use as comparators.
Strategy development, design, and deployment:
- Administration of the QCFE Strategy Management System, ensuring that all defined processes are complied with and supporting the System Owner to deliver the Business Strategic Plan through data collection, market analysis and identification of market trends ensuring the continued success of the organization.
- Staying up to date with industry trends and advancements for the advancement of business strategies, conducting research and analysis to gather insights and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to gather input and build support for strategic initiatives.
- Developing and documenting a clear and actionable strategy and communicating the strategic plans, objectives and goals to employees and all stakeholders.
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of strategic initiatives and adjusting as necessary.
Risk Management:
- Assisting in the maintenance and continual improvement of the corporate Risk Management System.
- Facilitate Risk Management reviews in various departments as directed, screening new and changing risks and ensuring the effective stewardship of risk management processes throughout Qatar Cool and its subsidiaries.
- Identifying and assessing risks that could impact the organization’s goals and objectives, assisting in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of risks.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that risk management considerations are integrated into decision-making and that risks and opportunities are appropriately considered and addressed in planning.
- Stewardship on the status of risk management mitigation projects through closure, providing support as required during closure activities (Where mitigations have been defined as strategic initiatives).
Business Results (Performance Measurement and Analysis):
- Analysing performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement and potential solutions through effective causal analysis.
- Maintain the defined platforms for recording, analysis and presenting of Business Performance Indicators, as part of the responsibilities of administering the QCFE Results System.
- Developing and implementing performance improvement initiatives to address areas of underperformance.
- Support/lead periodic reviews of defined Business Performance Indicators, engaging with all departments.
Performance Improvement Strategies and Implementation:
Excellence Culture:
- Engaging all stakeholders to ensure the achievement of high performance, quality and continual improvement is ingrained in values, expectations, and objectives through building an excellence culture which focuses on data and cost efficiency.
- Promote and share best practices and insights throughout the organization.
- Provide support to analyze, develop and streamline processes throughout the organization reducing wastes and improving efficiencies, using Lean tools and techniques and coaching others in their adoption and use.
- Collaborating to generate or enhance new ideas and suggestions that will improve practices throughout the organization.
- Providing training and coaching employees to help them understand various process improvement methodologies, continuous improvement tools and techniques and change management best practices.
Change Management:
- Managing the implementation of new processes, systems, and technologies.
- Communicating and engaging with stakeholders to build support for transformation initiatives.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks and obstacles during the transformation process.
- Provide consulting/coaching to any individual engaged in improvement initiatives and audits, acting as the change catalyst for defined improvement initiatives.
Support Internal Audits and Assessments:
- Ensuring compliance with QCFE systems, EFQM requirements and ISO standards.
- The undertaking of internal audits as per the defined Internal Audit program, delivering value-added audits to Qatar Cool to improve its practices considering requirements of ISO9001, QCFE and business risks.
