Job Description

Job Purpose
  • Lead and govern the robustness and readiness of the Major Project group’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) programs / framework to provide assurance that the Group's business continuity arrangements and capabilities function to ensure the organization can effectively respond to and recover from disruptions. Seek continuous improvement to enhance Major Project group’s business continuity management capability considering evolving industry related risks and issues and ensure the organization's resilience in the face of unforeseen events.




Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
  • Lead Business Continuity Management drills and exercises as per approved BCM framework.


  • Support project teams in ensuring project and contractor premises, teams and assets are covered by robust BCM policies and procedures within the provisions of the respective EPC or FEED contract.


  • Effectively analyse adequacy of BCM coverage and readiness within Major Projects group, including contractor-owned premises and asset dedicated to projects, to respond to known disruption scenarios.


  • Stay up to date with industry related risks, trends, and emerging issues, to assess additional disruption scenarios that may affect projects.


  • Able to train personnel on BCM processes and expectations across the Major Projects Group at all levels.


  • Possess reasonable IT, Cyber and Information Security knowledge and understanding to assess relevant threats and opportunities in real time.




Key Job Accountabilities - I
  • Design and implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and plans. Establish and maintain BCM policies, procedures, and standards. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices across the group.


  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify critical functions and processes. Develop recovery strategies to ensure business operations can continue or resume rapidly.


  • Lead the organization's response to business disruptions and crises. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during incidents to ensure effective communication and resolution.


  • Assess BCM  capabilities, plans and procedures of EPC contractors for new contracts, prior to sign-off and approval of respective plans that cover project personnel and assets. Ensure that third-party agreements include appropriate BCM requirements.


  • Conduct regular and ad hoc BCM exercises within the Major Projects group to enhance readiness for disruption scenarios.




Key Job Accountabilities - II
  • Define and continuously review list of business-critical processes and define recovery point and recovery time objectives for each.


  • Monitor and review BCM plans and procedures for effectiveness and make necessary updates. Prepare and present regular reports on BCM activities, risks, and compliance to senior management Support Business division in the reporting process, including monthly, weekly, and ad hoc reporting requirements.


  • Develop and deliver BCM training and awareness programs for employees. Conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of BCM plans that are related for group personnel as required by business.


  • Participate in project reviews as required to provide assurance to management on status of BCM frameworks in particular projects. Foster a culture of resilience and preparedness across the organization. Participate in Company-wide BCM activities as required.




Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, risk management,  or science.


  • Professional certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) or certification from BCM related Institute or CBCI.




Knowledge and/or Experience
  • 10 years’ experience in oil and gas or capital projects.


  • Experienced in business continuity management, disaster recovery, or a related field.


  • Strong knowledge of BCM frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 22301, NFPA 1600).


  • Experience with BCM software and tools.




Technical and Business Skills
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English with excellent report writing skills.


  • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.


  • Possess excellent analytical skills and ability to recognize trends, assess risks and identify root causes.


  • Able to apply sound judgment in evaluating courses of action and making decisions on complex issues affecting business continuity in real time scenarios.
