Job Description
Role Purpose:
Responsible to optimize the process from data collection to reporting, streamline the data collection process - consolidate data from various stations into one database, and analyses current data available (isokinetic dynamometry, 3D optical motion capture, instrumented treadmill, IMUs, EMG).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:
- Optimize the process from data collection to reporting. Create custom Open Sim models for various projects.
- Develop a process for fast reporting of muscle forces and joint contact force results.
- Utilize an instrumented treadmill and integrate it with marker less systems. Prepare comprehensive reports outlining results and conclusions.
- Develop and ensure the proper maintenance of diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Effectively communicate and engage with staff, players, parents, and guardians as necessary.
- Liaise with other professionals, including coaching, medical, and administrative personnel, to ensure a complete interdisciplinary support system for athletes/patients.
- Demonstrate physical ability to conduct clinical assessments.
- Handle occasional, potentially stressful, upsetting, or emotional situations with empathy. Uphold a proficient standard of ethical and professional behavior when treating and interacting with athletes/patients.
- Continuously comply with Health and Safety Regulations, taking responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of others in the working environment
- Participate in the departmental personal development and performance review system to promote personal and service developments.
- Participate in clinical audit to support the physiotherapy service/Assessment Unit clinical governance strategy.
- Liaise with the Assistant Director in charge of Quality to gain support and direction in management of their caseload.
- Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care. Communicate and make recommendations to maximize patient care and promote multidisciplinary team working.
- Ensure patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information are reflecting the care provided and meet professional standards. Ensure staff independent charting by using Cerner
- Assume or accept any other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor within the position role and responsibility.
Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job:
- Minimum experience of 5-7 years in which 2-3 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.
- Demonstrated extensive experience with Python, Open Sim, MATLAB and with data collection and processing biomechanical data (3D kinematics, kinetics, and EMG).
Education and Certification requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomechanics, statistics, research methods, or equivalent. Ph.D. in a scientific discipline, with a background in the health professions is ideal.
- Professional certifications in the field of work are a plus.
