Job Summary The Basis Lead involves a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management capabilities focused on overseeing the SAP Basis team and managing the technical infrastructure that supports SAP systems within an organization. The Basis Lead plays a critical role in managing the SAP Basis team, driving technical initiatives, and ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of SAP systems to support the organization's business objectives effectively.
Job Responsibilities 1 Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Basis Administrators and other technical specialists responsible for managing SAP systems.
Set clear goals, expectations, and performance standards for team members, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture, promote knowledge sharing, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and business users to understand requirements and implement technical solutions that meet business needs.
Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, standards, and compliance requirements in all aspects of system administration.
Plan and execute SAP projects, including system upgrades, migrations, patches, and enhancements, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements, and monitor project progress to ensure timely and successful completion.
Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and proactively address any obstacles or challenges that may arise during project execution.
Monitor the performance of SAP systems, analyze system metrics, and identify opportunities for performance optimization and efficiency improvements.
Job Responsibilities 2 Lead performance tuning efforts, implement system enhancements, and coordinate with technical teams to resolve performance-related issues and bottlenecks.
Design, implement, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SAP systems to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
Develop and document HA/DR strategies, configure failover mechanisms, conduct regular testing, and update recovery procedures as needed.
Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect SAP systems from security threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance reviews, and implement controls and safeguards to maintain data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Additional Responsibilities 3 Job Knowledge & Skills Strong technical expertise in SAP system administration, architecture, and infrastructure management.
Proven project management skills, with experience in planning, executing, and delivering SAP projects on time and within budget.
In-depth knowledge of SAP technologies, best practices, and industry standards.
Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate, SAP Certified Technology Professional) are advantageous.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus.
