Job summary



MISSION:



The Back-Office Engineer will support the Lead Project Engineer in the detailed planning of maintenance activities and definition of required resources. The daily activities will consist in the planning support, source data collection, data entry and support to reporting. The ideal candidate has a technical background in vessel management, with a focus in marine technical analyst in ship management and operations and material procurement and supply.
The Back-Office Engineer will report to the Maintenance Coordinator.

TASKS:



Acquire and allocate resources to support operations collecting the data from technical library/database as deemed necessary. Coordinate data collection and reporting with the on-board In-Service Support (ISS) Manager. Consult with manufacturers for specialist advice and guidance. Support the LPE in the preparing, editing, issuing and archiving of the In-Service Support Reports. Data entry in SAP, Excel data base, in house management software. Work closely with the management team to ensure smooth and successful implementation of company procedure. Preparation and editing of purchasing requisitions and expediting of critical items.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:



3+ years of experience in the field of maintenance management of systems (technical or purchasing or logistic). University degree in technical or management engineering. Fluency in English, both written and spoken (at least B1). Proficiency in Arabic would be an advantage. Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. Knowledge on planning activities planning, defining priority, and identifying critical path. Knowledge of ships system and spare parts management. Experience on complex system element breakdown. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Office, Access, PowerPoint). SAP knowledge will be considered a plus. Driving license required for daily commuting to/from naval base. Experience in contracts, projects management, supervising of maintenance will be taken into prior consideration.
