Job Description

The post holder will report to the Avionics Senior Supervisor and be an experienced and skilled avionic technician and supervisor, undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on aircraft or on aircraft components.


The post holder requires an excellent understanding of the Typhoon approved data set and is competent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework.


Demonstrates a distinct ability to analyze and diagnose faults to equipment and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team. Provide guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection activities on the air electric bay components. Assuring work undertaken is completed in accordance with the work package, using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configuration management

Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on electric components, which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and / or functional / system testDemonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriatelyMaintaining a personal task authorisation for working on components in accordance with QAF requirementsProgress reporting against delivery targets to supervisorUndertaking support tasks within the Air Electric Bay facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / test equipment)Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ during maintenanceEnsuring all Maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate
Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Job training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel’s logbooks as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries. If you are an approved designated assessor, undertake authorisation and task competency approvals, and check Pt 145 license application packs prior to submission


RequirementsRecognised apprenticeship with typically 3+ years’ experience

Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge / competency within own technical / subject area.

Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application.

Typhoon Avionics Trade ‘Q’ Course or equivalent
