ASSOCIATE ENGINEER- STRUCTURES

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of an Associate Engineer - Structures is to support the design, analysis, and implementation of structural engineering projects. This role typically involves working on various structural aspects of construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring that they meet safety, functionality, and regulatory requirements. This is generally considered a mid-level role, where the engineer is expected to contribute to projects with a solid understanding of structural principles and practices. You will get to design various structural elements of different types of structures including bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Detailed structural design of component of bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.
• Produce design drawings, calculations reports and specifications.
• Supervise CAD team as per project task assigned.
• Track the progress of the assigned design and report to the Senior/Principal Engineer of the status and any issues that may arise during the design development.
• Support other engineering activities as required by the Senior/Principal engineer.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Be self-motivated and remain under close supervision with superiors on committed tasks.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering with no related work experience. Candidate shall have the ability to apply basic engineering principles, techniques, and analysis within the structure discipline.
• Masters Degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
• Candidate will be requested to proceed with the MME registration once joining the company.
• Familiar with the core engineering software packages as those are: Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Structural Bridge Design (Auto Desk), AutoCAD, Bentley RAM connections/elements, Prokon
• Basic knowledge of following design codes.
• Ashghal IAN009 and other structural design related Interim Advice Notes, British Standards, Eurocode, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
• Familiarity with Revit software.
• Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports with organized structure and minimal need for grammatical corrections, and to hold articulate verbal communications.
• Native-level English speaking and writing skills
