Duties and responsibilities related to the Assistant Manager - Engineering role:
Provide guidance and direction to the engineering team, ensuring that colleagues are motivated, engaged, and equipped to perform their duties effectively
Support the Director of Engineering and Engineering Manager with the day to day running of the department
Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner, minimizing disruptions to operations
Mentor and train maintenance colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team
Manage maintenance inventory, ensuring that necessary parts and supplies are available to support maintenance activities
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, promoting a safe working environment for all team members
Ideally the candidate should have a degree or diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering and/or Building Management
Knowledge in preventive maintenance program and special projects will be valuable
Technical knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration systems, fire main systems, sprinklers, water/waste treatment or hydraulics will be an advantage
