Role:
Web Summit produces the best technology conferences in the world, with our latest event starting in Qatar in 2024. As we expand our presence across the globe, we require a Deputy Country Manager in Qatar to help us foster and cement a thriving and successful partnership.
Please note, this is a 12 month fixed term contract. + Support the development and implementation of a coherent strategy for Web Summits entry into the Arabian Peninsula.
+ Advise on key stakeholder relations, operations, corporate and community engagementFoster key relationships to ensure long term success in the region.
+ Ensure that Web Summit has a smooth and coherent relationship with key political and public entities.
+ Work as an internal resource and consultant for teams within Web Summit, utilising your specialised knowledge of the Arabian Peninsula.
+ Increase political engagement, ensuring the participation of key attendees at our events.
+ Assist in designing and roll out of a membership program to target Web Summit partners and attendees
+ Advise on, and lead where necessary, business engagement with members and partner companies
Skills we'd like to see
+ You’re fluent in English and Arabic, with strong knowledge of local customs and traditions.
+ You’re capable of utilising your positive rapport to nurture constructive, strategic relationships with stakeholders.
+ You have an extensive network of the Arabian Peninsula contacts in political, enterprise and media circles.
+ You have experience with negotiation in proposal and tender processes.
+ You’re a clear communicator with the ability to network, secure referrals and leverage contacts.
+ Ability to work to agreed KPIs, and report on progress to senior management within Web Summit.
+ You’re a problem solver, always looking for a solution that benefits all parties.
+ You have in-depth understanding and appreciation for Qatari protocol and are experienced in coordinating with the Department of Protocol.
+ You are comfortable working with high profile VVIPs, dealing with sensitive matters with the utmost professionalism
