Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Video Program Manager with a results-driven track record to join our Content Marketing team at DigitalOcean. Reporting to the Head of Content Marketing, you will be responsible for  driving  a robust production program of high-quality video assets that align with our brand identity and meet the needs of various marketing functions.


As the Video Program Manager, you will act as the central point of contact for all video-related requirements from marketing teams, prioritize these requests, and conceptualize impactful video strategies. You will conduct competitive analyses, ensure adherence to brand guidelines, create detailed storyboards, and oversee the entire lifecycle of video projects. This is a leadership and project management-heavy role where your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, influence stakeholders, deliver under pressure & tight deadlines, and get deliverables executed by the Video Editor & Motion Graphics Creator will be critical to success.


What You’ll Be Doing:Video Strategy & Conceptualization
  • Create a framework and the supporting workflows for how video production is supported internally, including intake forms, production scheduling, resource allocation and traffic management.
  • Gather video asset requirements from all marketing functions, including performance marketing, social media, email, organic growth, affiliate, PR & comms, and product marketing functions.
  • Conduct competitive research to identify trends, strategies, and opportunities for creating impactful video content.
  • Develop and prioritize a pipeline of video projects, ensuring alignment with overall marketing goals and deadlines.
  • Conceptualize creative video ideas that align with our brand identity, target audience, and marketing objectives.
  • Create comprehensive and visually detailed storyboards.

Project Management & Collaboration


  • Serve as the primary liaison between all marketing functions and the video production team, ensuring clarity and alignment on project goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Video Editor & Motion Graphics Creator to transform concepts and storyboards into high-quality video outputs.
  • Set clear expectations, assign tasks, and establish deadlines to ensure smooth execution of video projects.
  • Oversee project timelines, workflows, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of assets without compromising quality.
  • Co-own OKRs and deliverables through to completion

Quality Assurance & Brand Alignment


  • Review video drafts to ensure adherence to storyboards, brand guidelines, and marketing objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the production team to refine and improve video quality.
  • Ensure all videos consistently represent our brand identity and resonate with target audiences.

Performance Analysis & Optimization


  • Collaborate with marketing functions to evaluate the performance of video assets on various platforms (e.g., social media, YouTube, email campaigns etc.).
  • Benchmark asset categories to track what content themes, formats, etc. deliver impact.
  • Use data and insights to refine future video strategies and prioritize high-impact content types.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, video technologies, and emerging platform best practices to ensure our video content remains competitive and innovative.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Media Production, Film Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in video program management, creative production, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of managing video projects end-to-end, from ideation to execution, with measurable success.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of video storytelling, branding, and audience engagement principles.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • High proficiency in project management software.
  • High familiarity with video editing and motion graphics tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • A shareable portfolio or showreel that highlights a body of work you’ve been directly responsible for producing.
