Principal responsibilities
- Data and Analytics job family is designed to cater towards all the data needs of business. It covers sourcing of data and building structured data lakes, designing data marts generating Business Insights and hosting data in Cloud. Key responsibilities also include but not limited to: creation of a robust data foundation and continuous update of these datasets, to support Analysis and reporting, identify opportunities for data monetization, leverage BI and Visualization tools to deliver key business insights and develop self-serve BI solutions to empower the business to make informed decisions. The team members embed agile delivery methodologies to continuously keep refining the data models using new and emerging techniques. This team also acts as a bridge between IT and the business stakeholders.
- Working as a people manager, provide good recommendation / insights and enhance quality of output through tying the analysis back to Business trends, product knowledge and market dynamics. Expertise in technical skills (Collibra, QlikSense, Data Architecture and Data Models). Drives the optimization initiatives for existing processes across initiatives.. Understand personal and team’s training needs and take initiative to follow through personal development plan in conjunction with line manager.
- Work with multiple customers and stakeholders on projects. Develop strong understanding of business domain, its strategic direction, functional goals, and the required technical expertise. Drive innovation for self and the team to deliver incremental business value.. Demonstrate adequate level of business knowledge
- Sets up QA/QC framework and ensures adherence and constant improvements. Understands policies/standards and assists leadership team to translate and implements the same into operational governance framework for the team.
- The role holder will report to the Control Design Owner and Global Delivery Lead for GDEP within Data and Analytics Office (DAO). He / She will help execute services defined under the Data Governance service catalogue for one or more work stream and ensure effective implementation of Data Management Framework across regions/ markets. This includes operating a Data Management pillar within DAO while partnering with IT teams to prioritise and meet business requirements.
- The role holder will support the Global Work Stream while operating from India to engage stakeholders & SMEs from Businesses and Functions to understand and assess regulatory & HSBC’s Data Management policy requirements. The role holder will be responsible for analysis and documentation of data management best practices, including data standards, lineage, quality & process level controls; and determining trusted source for data assets and categories. The role holder is expected to apply and uphold HSBC’s standards and guidelines at all times.
- Lead delivery of DUSE control implementation, including current and future initiatives, for Group Data Execution Program (GDEP). This includes supporting operating model changes to achieve the programme objectives.
- Lead and manage delivery PoDs and internal/ external staff supporting DUSE implementation. Drive business and data architecture conversations to close process gaps through business and technology improvement. Define requirements and propose optimization to Group meta-model. Deliver conceptual and logical data model solution using HSBC’s Metadata methodology
